Overview
In this Contract Design Engineer role, you will transform initial concepts into functional prototypes for a next-generation consumer hardware range. Working within an agile, senior team, you will leverage your expertise in advanced product development to create impactful designs, working closely with key stakeholders to shape the product direction. You will primarily work on-site three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week, engaging in a hands-on prototyping process that emphasizes real-world testing and iteration.
Responsibilities
- Transform concepts into working prototypes by modeling and detailing parts using Creo.
- Conduct build, test, and iterate processes to validate performance and feasibility.
- Shape product design and functionality based on early concept direction.
- Make independent judgement calls to advance projects with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Proven experience in advanced product development for physical consumer products, ideally in small appliances or power tools.
- Strong proficiency in Creo is essential for this role.
- Ability to interpret and execute loosely defined briefs effectively.
- Experience with fluid handling or cyclonic systems is a plus, but not mandatory.
