Painting QC Inspector

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Painting QC Inspector who will play a critical role in ensuring that all coating and painting operations adhere to relevant codes, standards, and quality control guidelines. The inspector will collaborate with project teams to conduct inspections, issue quality records, and ensure compliance with quality control plans. This full-time contractor position is aimed at supporting energy and infrastructure projects with a focus on environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Execute inspections on materials, equipment, and construction activities according to the Quality Control Plan.
  • Issue relevant Quality Records and non-conformance reports as necessary.
  • Verify and control the storage and certification of materials and calibration certificates.
  • Perform qualifications of coating processes and inspect surface preparation.
  • Record atmospheric conditions prior to the start of painting operations.
  • Conduct wet and dry film thickness checks and monitor correct coding cycles.
  • Perform visual inspections, adhesion tests, and penetration tests of coatings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an inspector in coatings and painting within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of coating processes and inspection requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in coating/painting inspections is essential.
  • Thorough understanding of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality control requirements.
  • Certifications: NACE or FROSIO level 2 required.
  • Must reside in the UK with full, permanent right-to-work status.
