Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Engineer to join a dynamic technology firm developing complex software within the energy trading sector. In this fully remote role, you will focus on backend development with Python and also contribute to frontend tasks using TypeScript, playing a critical part in enhancing billing and pricing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services using Python.
- Build scalable functionalities for billing, pricing, and commercial platforms.
- Develop APIs and workflows to process high-volume transactional data.
- Model complex business rules and financial calculations.
- Collaborate with Product teams to create effective solutions from first principles.
- Contribute to frontend development with TypeScript when appropriate.
- Enhance system reliability, scalability, and engineering standards as the platform evolves.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in commercial software engineering.
- Strong production-grade experience with Python.
- Experience in building billing, settlements, pricing, or payments platforms.
- Background in the Energy sector, Utilities, or Commodity Trading is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working with data-intensive systems and understanding complex business logic.
- Possess a strong product mindset and a high level of ownership.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with startup or scale-up environments is advantageous.
