Overview
We are seeking a Senior SCADA / Controls Engineer to support a business-critical infrastructure project through a 6-month contract, combining remote work with on-site collaboration at various locations. The engineer will develop and maintain an automated control system that integrates generators, battery energy storage, and wind generation, ensuring high reliability in operations. This role requires immediate availability and focuses on delivering safe and effective control solutions in a critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support SCADA/EMS control logic across various energy sources.
- Coordinate closed-loop automatic control using an Enercon-based wind SCADA platform.
- Build HMI screens, manage alarms, and log historical data.
- Support automatic transitions among generation sources and diesel dispatch logic.
- Contribute to the development of the Functional Design Specification (FDS).
- Liaise with site engineering teams to ensure safe delivery of control changes.
Requirements
- Proven SCADA development experience in power generation or renewable energy fields.
- Desirable experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT.
- Experience integrating multiple asset types, including generators and BESS.
- Familiarity with Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, IEC 61850, or OPC UA protocols.
- Ability to work in a high-consequence environment.
- Availability at short notice for a 6-month contract.
