Overview
As a Thermal Runaway Expert, you will play a crucial role in the development of next-generation battery technologies within a highly regulated engineering environment. This position, suited for a seasoned battery specialist, involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and validate advanced Lithium-Ion battery systems. Your insights will be vital for ensuring battery safety and mitigating thermal runaway risks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and validate advanced battery systems.
- Provide expertise in thermal runaway mitigation and battery safety solutions.
- Support the development of complex engineering programs in a regulated environment.
- Utilize Systems Engineering principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Contribute to fire protection design and liquid cooling system design as needed.
- Offer specialized knowledge in composite design and injection moulding when applicable.
- Analyze battery system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in Lithium-Ion Battery Systems within the automotive or similar engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and product development lifecycles.
- Expertise in thermal runaway mitigation, fire protection design, or related fields.
- Experience in working on safety-critical or highly regulated engineering programmes.
- Familiarity with tools such as CATIA or 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) is advantageous.
- Must reside in the UK and have the right to work without requiring visa sponsorship.
