Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will play a vital role in a dynamic team focused on the modernization and transformation of cloud infrastructure. This position involves providing hands-on technical support for cloud and data centre migration projects, ensuring secure and efficient migration of workloads into Azure while addressing vulnerabilities throughout the process. The contractor will collaborate closely with team members and suppliers, contributing to planning, testing, and production activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support migration of datacentre-hosted workloads into Azure.
  • Assist with planning, build, testing, and production cutover activities.
  • Configure landing zones, networking, and infrastructure.
  • Aid in application and server migration activities.
  • Engage with suppliers and validate technical requirements.
  • Review and remediate high-priority vulnerabilities identified through pen testing.
  • Implement remediation activities across server and infrastructure platforms.
  • Validate controls through testing and evidence collection.

Requirements

  • Experience with Azure Cloud (IaaS/PaaS, networking, identity, monitoring).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, ARM, and PowerShell automation.
  • Strong background in Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, and Group Policy.
  • Familiarity with backup and restore solutions such as Veeam or CommVault.
  • Expertise in SQL Server, Azure SQL, and high availability/disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and SolarWinds.
  • Experience in managing security vulnerabilities in cloud environments.
