Overview
We are seeking an experienced 132kV Lead Commissioning Engineer to oversee commissioning activities for a major Data Centre infrastructure project. This role involves leading high-voltage installation efforts while collaborating closely with UKPN on the 132kV grid connection. The successful candidate will manage technical and operational aspects of the project, ensuring efficient delivery aligned with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead all commissioning activities on the client's 132kV/33kV installation.
- Manage commissioning programmes, procedures, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Coordinate the testing of transformers, switchgear, protection, and control systems.
- Witness factory and site testing activities.
- Interface with UKPN commissioning teams throughout the grid connection programme.
- Ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Support energisation and final handover processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Lead Commissioning Engineer in commissioning 132kV substations.
- Strong background in high-voltage commissioning of transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
- Experience leading commissioning teams on significant infrastructure or utility projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interface coordination skills.
- Ability to manage commissioning documentation, testing, and energisation activities.
