Overview
The Site Construction Manager will oversee the construction activities for a major power generation project, ensuring that mechanical and electrical installations are delivered on time and to high standards. This role involves close collaboration with project management and engineering teams, as well as the management of subcontractors and site personnel, promoting safety and quality throughout the project's duration. The position is based on-site for an expected contract duration of 18-24 months and operates outside IR35 regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor activities on site.
- Ensure construction works are delivered safely and efficiently according to program requirements.
- Lead site safety activities including inductions and toolbox talks.
- Review subcontractor RAMS and ensure compliance with procedures.
- Liaise with the Client, Principal Contractor, and site stakeholders daily.
- Monitor project progress, identifying risks or delays.
- Attend project meetings and contribute to progress reviews.
- Manage site logistics, including deliveries and access arrangements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Site Manager, or Site Construction Manager.
- Strong background in mechanical and electrical installation projects within industrial settings.
- Experience managing subcontractors and site delivery teams.
- Holds a valid SMSTS, NEBOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Possesses a CSCS Card and understanding of CDM regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence required.
- Experience in COMAH or process industry environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
