Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to contribute to a major hyperscale data centre project. The contractor will be responsible for overseeing and executing electrical commissioning activities, collaborating closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of critical electrical systems. This role provides an excellent opportunity to be involved in high-profile work within the data centre industry.
Responsibilities
- Carry out and oversee electrical commissioning activities across mission-critical data centre systems.
- Manage and execute commissioning procedures for LV and MV electrical systems.
- Support pre-commissioning, functional testing, and integrated systems testing (IST).
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Review and execute commissioning scripts, test procedures, and method statements.
- Witness and document factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs).
- Identify, track, and close out commissioning issues through to successful completion.
- Prepare commissioning reports, test records, and handover documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer on Data Centre or similar projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical commissioning processes and project delivery.
- Experience commissioning LV/MV distribution systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and commissioning documentation.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in construction and commissioning environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid right to work in the UK.
- Previous experience on hyperscale data centre projects is desirable.
