Overview
The Data Architect will play a key role in supporting a Housing Association during their transition to a modern Azure-based cloud architecture. This position focuses on implementing Microsoft Fabric as the strategic analytics and data platform to enhance data storage, integration, governance, and reporting capabilities. The contractor will engage with various stakeholders throughout the transformation project, particularly during the initial phases of implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of Azure-based cloud architecture using Microsoft Fabric.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for data integration and governance.
- Oversee migration efforts from legacy on-premises data systems.
- Utilize data modeling and mapping techniques to optimize data flow and accessibility.
- Establish data quality and governance practices to ensure reliable data management.
- Design and implement data warehousing and lake house architectures.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure architecture.
- Previous work in the public sector, specifically in housing or local authority settings.
- Hands-on experience in migrating legacy systems to cloud platforms.
- Strong background in data modeling and mapping.
- Familiarity with Medallion architecture principles.
- Expertise in data quality and governance strategies.
- Experience in designing data warehousing and lake house solutions.
