Overview
The Data Architect will work on a data strategy and discovery engagement for a major telecommunications client, focusing on assessing and defining enterprise data architecture across various domains. This role involves direct collaboration with client stakeholders to establish a comprehensive data architecture, technology roadmap, and governance framework. The successful candidate will leverage hands-on data platform knowledge and strong analytical skills in a client-facing capacity, requiring immediate availability and a 100% onsite presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops to align business and technology teams.
- Assess the current enterprise data landscape, including architecture, platforms, and methodologies.
- Catalogue databases, technology stacks, and data sources within complex environments.
- Map data movement and identify integration methods across systems.
- Identify data silos, duplication, quality issues, and architectural gaps.
- Develop a target-state data architecture and technology roadmap.
- Contribute to data governance frameworks and operating models.
- Use Python and LLMs to support data analysis processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Architect with a strong background in data strategy.
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP and BigQuery in a Data Lakehouse environment.
- Proficient understanding of data modeling across various levels (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Experience with ETL/ELT, data integration, and APIs.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality.
- Strong Python programming skills, with experience in AI/ML applications.
- Previous client-facing consulting experience in data architecture or related roles.
- Background in telecommunications or similarly complex enterprise environments.
