Overview
We are looking for a skilled Contract Operations Project Manager to oversee aerospace electronics projects for a leading manufacturer in the aerospace and defense sector. The contractor will manage projects from First Article Inspection (FAI) through production to End-of-Life (EOL), collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure successful manufacturing transfers and supplier performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage production ramp-up, First Article Inspection (FAI), and serial manufacturing.
- Lead manufacturing transfers to external suppliers.
- Monitor supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Manage obsolescence and supply chain risks.
- Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in aerospace or defense project management.
- Essential experience in manufacturing transfer and outsourcing.
- Familiarity with EN9100 aerospace quality standards.
- Experience with FAI, production, and supplier management.
- Understanding of electronics or avionics manufacturing.
- Knowledge of obsolescence and product lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with DO-254, DO-178 or DAL A standards.
