Overview
We are seeking a Freelance Lifecycle Communications and Copy Specialist to develop and craft engaging messages for our members throughout their journey on the membership platform. Working closely with our lifecycle and PostHog specialists, you will establish the messaging framework and tone while designing lifecycle sequences that resonate with our diverse membership segments. This role is pivotal in ensuring our communications are clear, strategic, and align with our brand voice.
Responsibilities
- Review current member communications and define a messaging framework for lifecycle moments.
- Set rules for channel, cadence, and frequency of behavior-triggered messages and broadcast communications.
- Design and write comprehensive lifecycle sequences including onboarding, activation, and renewal messages.
- Create copy for all segments and triggers, including subject lines, body text, and CTAs.
- Produce short video walkthroughs for onboarding and feature discovery.
- Develop reusable email templates, establishing guidelines for structure and hierarchy.
- Implement an AI-assisted workflow for generating and quality-assuring copy variants at scale.
- Document tone of voice, templates, and workflows for ongoing team use.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years experience in lifecycle, CRM, or member communications, with a strong focus on copywriting.
- A portfolio showcasing behavior-triggered sequences that you have designed and written.
- Experience in subscription, membership, publishing, or B2B SaaS products with an understanding of member engagement strategies.
- Ability to define and consistently apply a messaging framework and tone across different segments.
- Familiarity with AI tools for copy generation and refinement, with the capability to assess quality output.
- Experience in designing effective email templates and a clear understanding of message efficacy.
- Ability to analyze test variants and results to inform messaging improvements.
- Strong documentation skills for knowledge transfer and handover processes.
