Hardware Design Engineer

Overview

The Hardware Design Engineer will join the Engineering Team in the defence industry to support electronics projects for an initial six-month contract. This role focuses on hardware design and development, working closely with other engineers to create and test electronic systems. Experience in defence-related projects and relevant security clearances will enhance the candidate's profile for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic hardware solutions.
  • Conduct schematic capture using tools like Altium.
  • Implement PCB layout design while ensuring signal integrity.
  • Perform board bring-up, testing, and documentation of results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project requirements.
  • Utilize low-level data protocols in design and development.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electronics hardware design.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture tools, preferably Altium.
  • Knowledge of low-level data protocols such as SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and Modbus.
  • Experience in PCB layout design, including signal integrity and stack-up considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability in board bring-up and testing.
  • Previous experience in the defence industry is advantageous.
  • Active Security Clearance (SC) is preferred.
