Overview
The Interim Head of IT will lead a transformative effort in a private equity-backed consumer business during a critical investment phase. This six-month contract role involves conducting a thorough review of current technology infrastructures and developing a strategic roadmap to enhance efficiency and support future growth. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to identify technological gaps and opportunities for modernization, ensuring that IT initiatives align with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct an end-to-end assessment of the existing IT landscape, systems, infrastructure, data, and processes.
- Review current ERP, applications, and integration landscape, identifying opportunities for simplification and modernization.
- Assess technology supporting operations, supply chain, and wider business functions.
- Evaluate existing IT governance, cyber security, resilience, and controls.
- Examine the organization's data landscape and readiness for automation and AI.
- Identify key risks, capability gaps, and areas requiring investment in technology.
- Develop a prioritized technology roadmap and investment plan, supported by clear business cases.
- Provide senior leadership and investors with insights on current state technology capabilities and future requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Interim Head of IT, IT Director, Technology Director, or CIO in a dynamic organization.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct IT assessments and technology strategy development.
- Comprehensive understanding of ERP, applications, infrastructure, data, integration, and cyber security.
- Experience with legacy technology environments and modernizing fragmented systems.
- Familiarity with automation, AI technologies, and their integration into business strategies.
- Strong commercial acumen in business case development, ROI calculations, and investment prioritization.
- Background in manufacturing, consumer, FMCG, or operational environments.
- Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth organizations with substantial third-party technology management skills.
