Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a vital role in transforming consumer goods concepts into manufacturable products within a dynamic new product development team. Working alongside industrial designers and project managers, the engineer will generate designs from initial ideas to production-ready components, ensuring collaboration with suppliers and adherence to build milestones in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid working arrangements provide flexibility while participating in live projects in central London.
Responsibilities
- Own the mechanical design of new products from concept to production-ready CAD.
- Model parts, mechanisms, and enclosures in SolidWorks with full tolerancing.
- Apply DFM and DFA principles across injection-moulded, sheet-metal, and machined parts.
- Collaborate with suppliers and the broader team to meet build milestones.
- Prototype, test, and iterate rapidly across live projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer in consumer products.
- Fluency in SolidWorks, including detailed part modelling and production drawings.
- Solid background in taking products through DFM into volume manufacture.
- Hands-on experience with injection moulding, sheet metal, and mechanism design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
