Overview
The Senior Design Engineer role focuses on the mechanical design and development of a new range of heated hair styling tools set for launch in 2027. The contractor will work closely with an international team to transform innovative product concepts into manufacturable designs, emphasizing hands-on prototyping and thermal engineering. This position offers immediate engagement on a contract basis, providing significant ownership in the product development process.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs for heated hair styling tools, ensuring readiness for manufacturing.
- Produce production-quality CAD models in SolidWorks, with detailed 2D drawings and tolerance specifications.
- Engage in hands-on prototyping and testing in a collaborative environment.
- Leverage thermal engineering principles to enhance product functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and optimize designs throughout the development cycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Design Engineer with a focus on product development.
- Expertise in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, with the ability to create 2D drawings and perform tolerance work.
- Demonstrated history of taking designs from conceptual phases to manufacturing.
- Experience in thermal product design, particularly for heated products, is advantageous.
- A background in hair care product design is a plus but not mandatory.
