Overview
An Oracle DBA is sought to undertake critical database management tasks, focusing on installation, upgrades, backup strategies, and performance tuning. This role will be performed remotely for an initial duration of 3 to 6 months, with potential for extension based on project needs. The selected candidate will collaborate with teams to enhance database operations, ensuring optimal performance and data security, while also adhering to necessary security clearance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Deploy Oracle database software and apply necessary patches and version migrations.
- Design and test RMAN backup strategies to prevent data loss.
- Monitor system metrics and optimize SQL queries for improved performance.
- Engage in troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and maintain documentation of database operations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as an Oracle DBA with a strong understanding of database software deployment.
- Proficiency in backup and recovery techniques using RMAN.
- Experience with performance tuning and SQL query optimization.
- Previous high-level security clearance is highly desirable; candidates must be capable of obtaining security clearance prior to appointment.
