Overview
The Enterprise Data & AI Architect will play a crucial role in supporting a major Government organisation's enterprise data strategy and the integration of AI technologies. This role involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders to assess business needs, ensure security compliance, and explore innovative AI service options using AWS and other technologies. The architect will focus on defining architectural solutions while balancing cost management and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Define enterprise data and AI architecture using AWS data services and Databricks.
- Identify opportunities to introduce AI services and agentic workflows into enterprise processes.
- Assess and design solutions using Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker.
- Develop approaches that address security, governance, data residency and data sharing requirements.
- Apply FinOps principles to architecture decisions and optimise data and AI service costs.
- Present options, explain technical trade-offs and agree practical delivery roadmaps with senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Enterprise Data & AI Architect or comparable senior architecture role.
- Broad expertise across AWS data services and enterprise data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker and Databricks.
- Practical understanding of how to introduce and scale agentic AI within an enterprise.
- Experience designing solutions within complex security and data governance environments.
- Knowledge of FinOps and cost optimisation across data and AI platforms.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior business and technical stakeholders.
