Painting QC Inspector

Overview

As a Painting QC Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all coating and painting operations are executed according to relevant codes, standards, and internal quality control plans. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders in the engineering and construction industry, primarily focused on maintaining high quality and safety standards for projects in the energy sector. Your expertise will contribute to environmental sustainability as part of a global leader dedicated to advancing energy transition initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute specific inspections on materials, equipment, and construction activities on-site as per the Quality Control Plan.
  • Issue quality records and non-conformance reports as necessary, documenting findings using PTS software.
  • Verify the correct storage and certification of materials and instrumentation calibration certificates.
  • Witness or perform qualifications of coating processes and check surface preparation.
  • Monitor and record atmospheric conditions before painting operations.
  • Conduct wet and dry film thickness checks, and monitor wet film thickness and color coding.
  • Perform visual inspections, adhesion testing, penetration testing, and impact testing as required.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in coatings and painting inspection activities, particularly within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of coating processes, inspection requirements, and defect identification.
  • Hands-on experience in coating/painting inspection is essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project specifications.
  • Certification from NACE or FROSIO at level 2 is required.
