The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing network and system environments, ensuring their optimal performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise. This role requires a strong background in IP networking and hands-on experience with specific Nokia platforms. The engineer will work on-site in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, collaborating closely with team members to enhance network reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain network and system environments.
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance network reliability.
  • Utilize Microsoft Visio for network and technical diagramming.
  • Apply knowledge of IP networking principles in daily operations.
  • Work with Nokia platforms, including SAR-H and NFM-P.
  • Implement best practices for handling WAN, LAN, and MPLS networks.
  • Leverage experience with XTran technology during project tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in monitoring and maintaining network environments.
  • Strong background in IP networking with CCNA-level knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with Nokia SAR-H and Nokia NFM-P platforms.
  • Excellent understanding of routing, switching, and data networking principles.
  • Experience working with XTran technology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio for technical documentation.
  • Valid UK driving license is required.
