Overview
We are seeking a Contract React Engineer to join a leading UK travel-tech platform focused on enhancing its web engineering team. This role involves taking ownership of customer-facing features using technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Next.js while collaborating with product and design teams to drive significant product decisions. The position is contract-based for an initial duration of 6 months, primarily remote with occasional team days in person.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship customer-facing features in React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Work on a high-traffic, performance-critical booking experience across web and mobile web.
- Contribute to a mature design system and ensure consistency as the product evolves.
- Partner with product and design to shape and refine features.
- Write well-tested code and participate in experimentation and A-B testing to support data-driven decisions.
Requirements
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript on high-traffic products.
- Comfortable working with Next.js and modern testing methodologies.
- Understanding of performance and accessibility best practices.
- Ability to take ownership of problems and contribute to product decisions.
- Familiarity with GraphQL and design system contributions.
- Experience in migrating legacy front-end systems to React/TypeScript.
- Exposure to A-B testing frameworks.
