Overview
The Contract Robotics Controls Engineer will play a key role in driving innovation in the robotics industry by working closely with a talented team on the development and optimisation of autonomous robotic platforms. This position focuses on tuning motor performance and addressing motion-control issues to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise control algorithms for autonomous robotic platforms.
- Tune and configure motor performance to improve system reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex motion-control issues in multi-axis robotic systems.
- Implement trajectory and motion planning strategies.
- Assess and manage IR35 status as required for the role.
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate bespoke motion-control systems.
- Conduct testing and validation of robotic controls and systems.
- Document findings and improvements for future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience in C++ programming.
- Familiarity with ROS and ROS2 frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with stepper motors and motor controllers.
- Strong background in robotics controls and motion control.
- Experience in motor tuning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Capability in trajectory planning and motion planning.
- Ability to quickly diagnose and address complex motion-control problems.
- Experience with multi-axis robotic systems and control integration.
