Overview
The Contracts Administrator will join a site delivery team on a major capital project, providing essential contract administration support to the Contracts Manager and Construction Manager. The role is designed for a mid-level professional with 5 to 10 years of experience in contracts administration or quantity surveying, specifically within the engineering or construction sectors. The contractor will ensure effective management of construction contracts throughout the project lifecycle, engaging with various teams to maintain compliance and support project execution.
Responsibilities
- Draft and issue contractual correspondence, including letters, notices, and responses to contractors.
- Support the administration of construction contracts throughout project execution.
- Attend and support weekly contractor progress and commercial meetings.
- Monitor contractor compliance with contractual requirements and obligations.
- Maintain contract documentation, records, and correspondence registers.
- Assist with contractor applications, progress assessments, and general commercial administration activities.
- Liaise with project, construction, and commercial teams to ensure contractual matters are effectively managed.
- Provide day-to-day support to the Contracts Manager and Construction Manager.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years' experience in Contracts Administration and/or Quantity Surveying.
- Previous site-based experience supporting construction projects.
- Background within engineering, industrial, pharmaceutical, chemical, process plant, or infrastructure projects preferred.
- Good understanding of contract administration principles and construction project delivery.
- Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contracts would be advantageous.
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
