The SC Cleared Linux Embedded Systems & Firmware Engineer will engage in critical pre and post-silicon development phases for next-generation ARM System on Chips (SoC). Working remotely with occasional travel to Bristol or London, the contractor will collaboratively define software specifications and optimizations while implementing robust security features in embedded systems, all aimed at enhancing platform performance.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-silicon architectural reviews and virtual prototyping.
  • Implement end-to-end embedded security features, including secure boot and cryptographic primitives.
  • Collaborate with hardware and architecture teams to define software specifications and optimize performance.
  • Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers, BSPs, and IoT/networking stacks.
  • Establish unit testing strategies and automated build tools to ensure high-quality code delivery.
  • Ensure robust APIs and middleware while following modern software development methodologies.

Requirements

  • Proficient in C/C++ with desirable skills in Rust for embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ARM architecture, particularly Cortex-M and/or Cortex-A ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated Linux kernel development and device driver programming expertise on ARM platforms.
  • Experience in both pre-silicon validation and post-silicon bring-up processes.
  • Strong software architecture skills in designing APIs and maintainable abstractions.
  • Excellent debugging abilities and analytical thinking with effective cross-functional communication.
