Overview
This position is for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer who will play a pivotal role in designing and supporting cloud foundations for a leading B2B SaaS organization. The role emphasizes high autonomy and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, requiring extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), serverless architectures, and security best practices. The contractor will contribute to a greenfield platform build, focusing on modern engineering approaches and AI adoption.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain secure, scalable AWS serverless infrastructure.
- Develop automation, tooling, and workflow orchestration using Python and TypeScript.
- Implement complex workflows leveraging AWS services such as Step Functions and Lambda.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Implement identity and access management patterns, including OIDC and IAM roles.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams, communicating decisions and risks effectively.
- Document systems, processes, and technical decisions accurately.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, particularly with serverless technologies such as Lambda and Step Functions.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of AWS IAM roles and permission management, including OIDC identity flows.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline enhancements using tools like GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and services including EventBridge and DynamoDB.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for articulating technical concepts to various stakeholders.
