Service Designer

Overview

We are seeking a Service Designer to join our team on a contract basis for a duration of 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from home, and focuses on enhancing service delivery in the public sector, with specific emphasis on GDS methodologies. You will collaborate with various teams to design and implement effective services that meet user needs and Government Digital Service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research to gather insights and inform service design decisions.
  • Create service blueprints, journey maps, and prototypes to illustrate service interactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design principles are effectively implemented.
  • Analyze and iterate on service designs based on user feedback and data analysis.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to align on service goals and processes.
  • Document design processes and decisions clearly for future reference and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Service Designer in the public sector
  • Familiarity with Government Digital Service (GDS) guidelines and standards
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Ability to create clear documentation and visualizations of service designs
  • Experience in conducting user research and synthesizing findings into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in design tools and software relevant to service design
