Overview
The Technical Architect for Ecommerce Platforms will lead technology strategy and directly impact the development of digital customer and marketing platforms. In this senior, hands-on role, the incumbent will collaborate with product teams, technology leaders, and engineering partners to define the architecture, establish engineering principles, and ensure scalable, resilient solutions. This position focuses on influencing technology decisions within a large-scale consumer-facing environment while remaining actively engaged in technical aspects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and define technology strategy for digital customer and marketing platforms.
- Collaborate with product teams and technology leadership to define architecture and establish engineering principles.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, and cloud-first, aligning with market needs.
- Provide guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks to agile teams considering technical and architectural debt.
- Stay updated on technology trends, experimenting with new technologies in digital and customer platforms.
- Identify software and technology opportunities and drive the introduction of new tools and processes.
- Engage with third-party engineering partners to challenge and support ongoing development.
- Own technical roadmaps and oversee architecture decision-making processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, system analysis, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with omni-channel multi-cloud platforms, preferably in retail, hospitality, or leisure sectors.
- Expertise in agile methodologies, Dev/SecOps, and continuous delivery with in-house and third-party teams.
- Strong understanding of digital and customer platform architecture, including experience with Sitecore or other CMS systems.
- Familiarity with modern web technologies (.NET, React, Next.js) and cloud infrastructure (Azure).
- Solid knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Capacity to balance technical responsibilities with strategic oversight.
