Overview
The Workday Specialist – Absence & Time Tracking will serve as a senior functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Workday platform, focusing on the Absence and Time Tracking modules. Working entirely remotely, the contractor will manage complex escalations, gather business requirements, execute data migrations, and lead system enhancements to optimize functionality across global operations. The role is designed for an experienced professional who will take ownership of functional delivery and provide expertise across international markets.
Responsibilities
- Own the ongoing setup, configuration tweaks, and functional support for Workday Absence and Time Tracking.
- Gather user requirements, map processes, identify efficiency opportunities, and translate business needs into Workday technical solutions.
- Design test strategies, write comprehensive test scripts, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and validate new Workday feature releases.
- Plan and execute mass data cleanses and complex EIB uploads.
- Troubleshoot complex 2nd/3rd line technical issues within the Absence and Time Tracking space, resolving root causes within defined service standards.
- Liaise with integration specialists and payroll teams to ensure seamless data flow across global pay cycles.
Requirements
- Strong, hands-on functional configuration experience in Workday Absence and Workday Time Tracking.
- Proven track record of independently leading UAT, writing test scripts, and managing release testing.
- Solid understanding of Workday integration technologies (EIBs, Core Connectors).
- Background supporting complex pay processes and HR technology implementations in global, multi-market organisations.
- Strong knowledge of international data privacy regulations (GDPR) and HR compliance.
- Capability to self-manage deliverables, prioritize workloads independently, and consult directly with key business stakeholders.
