Overview
We are looking for a Principal Artificial Intelligence Engineer to lead the establishment and implementation of engineering standards for agentic AI within a major digital transformation programme. In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with various engineering teams to transition from AI experimentation to secure and maintainable solutions, while also providing technical direction and stakeholder support.
Responsibilities
- Define practical engineering standards for agentic AI and AI-assisted development.
- Build and configure tooling, integrations, and controls alongside engineering teams.
- Establish approaches to security, monitoring, cost tracking, and maintenance.
- Address risks related to prompt injection, exposed secrets, and data leakage.
- Help teams adopt consistent practices and share successful strategies.
- Advise technical and business stakeholders on implementation decisions and trade-offs.
Requirements
- Principal or equivalent level senior engineering experience.
- Proven delivery of agentic AI solutions in a substantial enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on engineering skills, capable of building solutions and setting technical direction.
- Experience implementing security, governance, and operational controls around AI systems.
- Ability to work across engineering teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Claude, OpenAI models, AWS Bedrock, or Gemini.
- Background in software engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting is advantageous.
