Overview
The Crisis and Event Response Lead will play a crucial role in enhancing an organization's resilience during disruptions by addressing vulnerabilities in the response processes. This position involves collaborating with executive leadership to establish effective roles and decision-making structures and conducting exercises to prepare specialized teams for real-time crisis management. The successful candidate will ensure the organization can recover from serious events independently.
Responsibilities
- Assess potential failure points in crisis response and present actionable insights to the executive committee.
- Establish and implement structures for effective decision-making under pressure.
- Design and conduct exercises that test both specialist and third-party responses to crises.
- Ensure ongoing planning for recovery in parallel with current operations.
- Regularly convert crisis experiences into actionable organizational change.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing real-time crisis responses in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to design and facilitate crisis response exercises for senior personnel.
- Strong written communication skills suitable for board-level reporting.
- Knowledge of the UK operational resilience framework and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Experience in UK regulated financial services with a focus on PRA supervised firms.
- Technical fluency to engage with technology leaders on recovery intricacies.
- Familiarity with Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 standards and certifications like CRISC or CISM.
