Overview
The Data Architect will play a pivotal role in a major transformation programme aimed at modernizing data capabilities for enterprise organizations through cloud-first architecture. Collaborating with various stakeholders, the contractor will design and implement scalable data platforms while supporting the governance and delivery of modern data ecosystems. This position offers an opportunity for significant influence on strategic data initiatives within hybrid working arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver enterprise-scale data architecture solutions.
- Define target-state data platforms, roadmaps and architectural standards.
- Develop cloud-first data strategies aligned to business objectives.
- Establish and promote data governance, quality, and best-practice frameworks.
- Support the modernization and migration of legacy data environments.
- Drive architectural decision-making across complex transformation programmes.
- Ensure data solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to organizational goals.
- Collaborate with business, technology, and leadership stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Architect within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles, frameworks, and governance.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Experience designing modern data platforms using Databricks and/or Snowflake.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Track record of delivering complex data transformation initiatives.
- Experience operating within programme and enterprise architecture environments.
