Overview
The Senior Solutions Architect will lead the data architecture for a high-volume online marketplace as part of a multi-year technology transformation. Working primarily with Google Cloud Platform, this role involves optimizing data models, managing costs, and developing a self-service reporting framework. The architect will also guide structural changes in the fragmented data team, ensuring alignment with technical leadership and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Own the design and implementation of the data architecture for a high-volume online marketplace.
- Optimize data models to manage GCP consumption costs effectively.
- Develop and implement a self-service reporting model to empower business users.
- Advise on structural changes within the data team to enhance technical leadership.
- Lead deep architecture work to establish a comprehensive data strategy from scratch.
- Collaborate with data scientists to support analytics and seller attraction initiatives.
- Drive research-led solutions leveraging AI workflows and high-volume infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in solutions architecture with large-scale data platforms.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform tools including BigQuery, DBT, and Data Stream.
- Proven history of designing and optimizing complex GCP data models focused on cost management.
- Experience in developing self-service reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Ability to create data strategies from the ground up without predefined blueprints.
- Familiarity with BI tool transitions and data science integration within teams is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment with minimal onboarding needed.
