Overview
We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with extensive experience in designing and optimizing large-scale data platforms, specifically within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will lead a significant technology transformation for a high-volume online marketplace, focusing on data architecture and driving towards a self-service reporting model. Collaborating closely with the data team, you will be responsible for implementing immediate optimizations, setting data strategy, and advising on structural changes as the organization evolves.
Responsibilities
- Own the data architecture for a high-volume online marketplace.
- Lead major technology transformation initiatives within GCP.
- Optimize data models and establish cost-management structures from day one.
- Shape the data strategy and drive structural changes within the data team.
- Support the transition towards self-service reporting and analytics.
- Advising on the introduction and integration of data scientists into the organization.
- Facilitate collaboration through key meetings and workshops as needed.
Requirements
- Senior solutions architecture experience in large-scale data platforms.
- Deep understanding of GCP data tools: BigQuery, DBT, and Data Stream.
- Proven ability to design and optimize complex GCP data models with cost efficiency in mind.
- Experience in building and scaling self-service reporting and analytics frameworks.
- Ability to establish comprehensive data strategies from inception.
- Relevant experience with BI tooling transitions and embedding data science in commercial teams is a plus.
- Willingness to attend key in-person meetings as required, being based within 50 miles of designated offices.
