Overview
The Senior Solutions Architect (GCP) will spearhead the data architecture for a high-volume online marketplace, driving a significant multi-year technology transformation. The role involves optimizing data models and establishing a comprehensive data strategy within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem. Working closely with fragmented data teams, the contractor will define and implement structural changes while also gearing up for future data transitions and enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Own the data architecture for a high-volume online marketplace.
- Optimize data models within the Google Cloud Platform to manage rising BigQuery consumption costs.
- Define and implement an immediate cost-management strategy for GCP resources.
- Collaborate with fragmented data teams to consolidate under technical leadership.
- Lead the transition toward self-service reporting, moving away from Looker as necessary.
- Advise on and contribute to larger data transformation initiatives.
- Conduct hands-on work with GCP data tools such as BigQuery, DBT, and Data Stream.
Requirements
- Senior solutions architecture experience on large-scale data platforms.
- Deep mastery of Google Cloud Platform data tools, specifically BigQuery, DBT, and Data Stream.
- Proven experience in designing and optimizing complex GCP data models for cost efficiency.
- Background in building and scaling self-service reporting and analytics solutions.
- Capability to develop a comprehensive data strategy from the ground up.
