Overview
The role of a Data Engineer involves joining a small data team to enhance the organization’s data capabilities for an interim period. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Data Engineering, focusing on developing robust data pipelines and platforms while collaborating with external partners and internal teams to drive data-driven decision-making. This position allows for significant contributions to digitalization projects within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the introduction of foundational data management practices within the organization.
- Design, implement, and optimize physical data models in conjunction with pipeline architecture.
- Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and stakeholders through regular communication and planning.
- Develop and maintain tailored ETL processes to transform raw data into actionable insights.
- Manage expectations and aspirations of diverse stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Azure Data Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and modern ETL/ELT principles.
- Proficiency in programming languages, including Python, Scala, and SQL.
- Demonstrable expertise in data modeling and warehousing using Azure platforms.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Event Hubs, and Cosmos DB.
- Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD.
- Robust understanding of data governance, quality, and metadata management practices.
- Ability to communicate technical information and engage with non-technical audiences effectively.
