Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Data Platform Specialist for a 6-month contract to support the operation, administration, and ongoing development of a modern Microsoft Azure data platform. The contractor will collaborate with a dedicated team, focusing on enhancing enterprise cloud data services while maintaining platform stability and performance. This role requires strong operational expertise and experience in managing Azure data tools, with some on-site presence required in Cardiff during the initial month.
Responsibilities
- Support and manage the operation and administration of Microsoft Azure data platforms.
- Improve and optimize enterprise cloud data services.
- Provide operational support for tools including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI.
- Collaborate with teams on infrastructure deployment and management using Azure DevOps and Terraform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues effectively.
- Ensure compliance with security requirements within regulated environments.
- Prepare for and assist in the renewal of SC/MV clearance as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in platform administration and operational support of Azure data services.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure tools: Databricks, Fabric, Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience with integration platforms such as Salesforce and MuleSoft is desirable.
- Current, lapsed, or eligibility for SC clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to work in secure or highly regulated environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and platform support abilities.
