Overview
We are seeking a skilled Contract Full Stack Software Engineer to join an agile engineering team, contributing to the development of new features for a cloud-native platform. This role involves hands-on work across the full software development lifecycle, focusing on both front-end and back-end development, and supporting cloud deployments in an AWS environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build modern frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
- Develop and enhance REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
- Work with AWS services and support cloud-native deployments.
- Contribute to containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL/MySQL databases using TypeORM or similar tools.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code using Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress/Playwright.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional agile team to deliver scalable, high-quality software.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
- Proven backend development experience with Node.js and Express.js (or NestJS).
- Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and ORM frameworks such as TypeORM or Prisma.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines; Kubernetes experience is highly desirable.
- Strong testing mindset with experience in Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience working within agile teams and owning features from development to deployment.
