Overview
The Data Engineer will join a growing organization for an initial 3-month contract to assist in the development of a new Data Warehouse. Working closely with the project team, the contractor will leverage their experience in data engineering to enhance existing processes and contribute to ongoing data initiatives. Ideal candidates should be able to work independently and adapt quickly to project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data pipelines to support data ingestion and transformation processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Utilize Python and SQL for data modeling and warehouse design.
- Design and maintain a robust Data Warehouse using GCP and BigQuery technologies.
- Implement the Medallion Architecture approach for data processing and storage.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
- Monitor and optimize performance of data workflows and processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
- Familiarity with Data Warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Knowledge of Data Modelling techniques and frameworks.
- Experience with Medallion Architecture is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
