Overview
The role of the Analytics Engineer focuses on transforming fragmented financial data into comprehensive analytical models to support investment planning and decision-making. Working collaboratively within a small, dynamic team, the contractor will influence the development of data structures and analytical capabilities that empower the firm's financial and investment operations. This position will involve direct engagement with senior finance and investment stakeholders to craft innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation of complex financial data into scalable analytical models.
- Develop new capabilities from the ground up for financial planning and reporting.
- Modernise existing data warehouses to enhance data accessibility and usability.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand and address complex business challenges.
- Structure and implement a unified Microsoft Fabric architecture.
- Utilise SQL and data modelling techniques to optimize data processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data engineering, particularly within asset management or investment sectors.
- Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and transformation.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and implementation.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or dbt.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently.
- Excellent understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) practices.
