Overview
In this contract role as an Enterprise Data Modeller, you will take ownership of shared data models critical to a well-known performance sportswear brand. You will collaborate closely with data engineers and analytics engineers to ensure that the data architecture supports business needs and maintains a high standard of integrity across various functions. The position is remote-first, allowing for flexibility while requiring occasional office visits in London.
Responsibilities
- Profile source systems in BigQuery to establish keys, grain, completeness, and consistency.
- Design conformed dimensions and facts with established keys, hierarchies, and history.
- Write model specifications for shared subjects.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analytics engineers to verify models built in dbt.
- Define the reference data utilized by the shared layer.
- Review domain data products to ensure alignment with shared modelling standards.
- Maintain the enterprise bus matrix and source-of-record table for shared attributes.
- Manage the decision log and data dictionary for ongoing data governance.
Requirements
- Experience as a Senior Data Engineer or equivalent in large-scale warehouses.
- Expertise in implementing and maintaining slowly changing dimensions in production environments.
- Strong background in dimensional modelling practices.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding dbt projects and contracts.
- Comfort with BigQuery and related data tooling.
- Experience with at least one master data integration tool or framework.
