Overview
We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join a high-performing engineering team on a contract basis. The contractor will focus on developing and enhancing features for a high-traffic product, ensuring that customer experience in a transactional environment is fast, reliable, and scalable. This role involves collaboration with Product Owners and other engineering teams, offering a dynamic opportunity for individuals who thrive in challenging front-end engineering scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Build new features across an established, high-traffic web platform.
- Develop modern front-end solutions using React and TypeScript.
- Maintain and improve clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Work with real-time data and high transaction volumes.
- Identify improvements around performance, quality, and scalability.
- Contribute to technical solution design and assess engineering trade-offs.
- Support testing throughout the delivery process.
- Produce accurate estimates for planned development work.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS.
- Experience building complex, high-traffic user interfaces.
- Familiarity with designing front-end solutions for low-latency, highly available environments.
- Experience with real-time data or high-volume transactional systems.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software delivery methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD and modern developer tooling.
- Understanding of backend technologies such as Golang, C#, .NET, Java, C++, or C is advantageous.
