Overview
The Developer Enablement Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a crucial role in a major technology transformation program by working closely with engineering teams to enhance their adoption of a modern developer platform. This position involves collaborating with developers, platform engineers, and domain teams to facilitate a smooth transition towards improved, self-service working practices, ultimately enhancing the overall developer experience within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Onboard engineering and domain teams onto the platform.
- Run workflow discovery, training, and co-design workshops.
- Demonstrate golden paths and recommended developer workflows.
- Help teams adopt CI/CD, repositories, templates, and self-service platform capabilities.
- Identify and troubleshoot common adoption blockers.
- Create clear developer documentation, examples, and reusable learning materials.
- Gather feedback from engineering teams to inform platform improvements.
- Establish and grow a Community of Practice, coaching teams towards greater self-sufficiency.
Requirements
- Experience in platform engineering, developer experience, or DevOps.
- Proficient in CI/CD practices and developer platforms.
- Strong understanding of source-code repositories.
- Familiarity with creating technical documentation and learning materials.
- Experience in onboarding developers and providing training.
- Ability to identify and solve adoption challenges effectively.
- Proven track record in coaching and enabling engineering teams.
