Field HSE Lead

Overview

In the role of Field HSE Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of HSE officers on the BP NEP / NZT carbon capture project. Reporting to the Project HSE Manager, you will ensure the implementation of HSE management systems on site while interfacing with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to uphold safety and compliance standards. This position emphasizes both technical expertise and team leadership within the context of environmental and safety management.

Responsibilities

  • Implement HSE management systems at site in accordance with IOGP and ISO HSE guidelines.
  • Act as the primary HSE contact for site operations, managing all HSE issues.
  • Develop and manage the Field HSE team to ensure effective safety practices.
  • Provide HSE support and advice to project management and site personnel.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations to identify root causes and prevention strategies.
  • Establish and execute HSE monitoring and audit programs.
  • Facilitate risk management processes including HAZOP and HAZID assessments.
  • Interface with clients, subcontractors, and authorities regarding safety regulations and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an HSE manager, particularly within international oil and gas standards.
  • Possession of a NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Certification as an ISO 45001 Lead Auditor is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and UK HSE legislation.
  • Experience in developing emergency response plans for potential site incidents.
  • Ability to lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team of HSE professionals.
  • Facilitate and oversee HSE training and awareness programs for site staff.
