Overview
The Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing embedded firmware for innovative safety products, collaborating closely with electronics engineers to ensure successful integration, testing, and validation of products. This role involves working from technical specifications and project documentation and will support the entire product development lifecycle, from initial design through to final validation. The position is open for a 3-6 month contract with remote working flexibility and an immediate start date.
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware for new and existing products based on technical specifications.
- Collaborate with Electronics Engineers to ensure successful firmware integration and testing.
- Support debugging, verification, and issue resolution throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Produce clear technical documentation to support firmware implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Participate in technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered on time.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Firmware Engineer or Embedded Software Engineer role.
- Extensive experience with STM32 processors for embedded firmware development.
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Desirable experience with TI Sitara processors and Enterprise Architect modelling software.
- Knowledge of firmware unit testing using Tessy is a plus.
