Overview

The Freelance Trainer will design and deliver engaging training sessions aimed at empowering Black-led charities, social enterprises, and entrepreneurs. Working closely with the Programmes Manager and other trainers, the role focuses on enhancing skills and knowledge in areas such as entrepreneurship, leadership, and community advocacy. This position allows for project-based and flexible engagements to support the mission of enabling equitable opportunities and outcomes for Black communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training curricula to meet the specific needs of different programme levels.
  • Facilitate interactive training sessions using various teaching methods.
  • Measure learning outcomes through participant evaluations and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Manager and fellow trainers to ensure consistent content delivery.
  • Adapt training materials based on evaluations and participant needs.
  • Deliver sessions on topics like business development, community advocacy, and diversity strategies.
  • Create an inclusive and safe learning environment to encourage participant engagement.
  • Utilize digital training tools to enhance virtual training experiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering professional training sessions (5+ years preferred).
  • Familiarity with adult learning theories and best practices in education.
  • Expertise in at least one subject area relevant to the training topics.
  • Strong facilitation skills to engage diverse audiences and manage group dynamics.
  • Proficiency with digital training tools and creating high-quality training materials.
  • Awareness of challenges faced by Black-led and Global Majority organisations is an advantage.
  • Experience working with underserved communities or relevant lived experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
