Overview
The Consultant Flow Assurance Engineer will provide technical support and analysis for various projects undertaken within the Flow Assurance team, reporting directly to the Flow Assurance Study Manager. This role involves the independent execution of flow assurance studies, communication of findings through technical reports, and mentorship of junior engineers within a global community. The engineer will play a key role in developing innovative solutions that align with client requirements while contributing to business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead flow assurance studies independently and compile comprehensive reports.
- Ensure that designs are safe, operable, and in compliance with project requirements and regulations.
- Communicate regularly with clients and study managers to meet project objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to address engineering interfaces.
- Develop flow assurance strategies, philosophies, and procedural documentation.
- Prepare and validate flow assurance calculations and technical reports.
- Participate in business development activities and engineering coordination meetings.
- Engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives within the global flow assurance community.
Requirements
- Minimum of a first degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; professional engineering qualifications preferred (CEng/PEng).
- Significant experience with flow assurance, particularly using OLGA in upstream oil and gas settings.
- Proven ability to manage flow assurance conceptual studies and detailed design support.
- Familiarity with software tools such as PipeSIM, PipePhase, PVTSim, and various CFD/FEA applications.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics and flow assurance calculations.
- Strong report writing and communication skills in English.
- Flexibility to adapt and handle multiple project deadlines effectively.
- Experience in energy transition-focused flow assurance projects is an advantage.
