Overview
As the Head of IT / Head of Infrastructure for a rapidly growing retail organization, you will provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership to create a high-performing technology environment. Working closely with your team, you will blend technical expertise with people management to drive innovation and enhance service delivery within the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and development opportunities for the IT team to foster accountability and collaboration.
- Design, configure, and maintain hybrid infrastructure to ensure seamless integration of on-premise and cloud services.
- Act as the technical lead for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and identity management platforms.
- Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and security issues.
- Lead the implementation of cybersecurity controls and compliance measures to safeguard information.
- Manage vendor relationships ensuring service quality and compliance with contracts.
- Promote customer-focused IT services that enhance the user experience across the organization.
- Oversee change management for infrastructure upgrades and critical business transitions to minimize disruption.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role within a £300M+ turnover retail environment.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar roles.
- Experience in balancing technical delivery, strategic planning, and team leadership.
- Proficiency in hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure management.
- Expertise in administering Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and identity management systems.
- Solid networking knowledge, including routing, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices and disaster recovery protocols.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation is desirable.
