Overview
The HV Cable Design Engineer will work on various transmission and distribution projects within a hybrid working arrangement. This role involves collaboration with a team of engineering professionals to develop and implement high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) cable design solutions, leveraging extensive technical expertise in the field.
Responsibilities
- Design high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) cable systems.
- Conduct cable sizing, thermal rating, and ampacity studies.
- Perform earthing, bonding, and induced voltage analyses.
- Develop cable route designs and conduct surveys.
- Utilize AutoCAD for design documentation and drawings.
- Employ software tools such as CYMCAP, ELEK, or Cableizer for engineering calculations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HV/EHV cable design.
- Strong knowledge of cable sizing and thermal rating analyses.
- Familiarity with earthing, bonding, and induced voltage analysis.
- Experience in cable route design and surveying.
- Proficient in using AutoCAD for engineering designs.
- Competence in using CYMCAP, ELEK, or Cableizer software.
- Ability to work within a hybrid working model.
