Overview
We are looking for a skilled Senior Civil Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy for a contract position. This hybrid role focuses on delivering civil infrastructure designs for various projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments, while collaborating with a range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards throughout the design process.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver civil infrastructure design packages from concept through to detailed design and construction.
- Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and technical reports.
- Produce and oversee designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vehicle Tracking and MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Manage project deliverables, programmes and resources to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Attend design coordination meetings and liaise with clients and external stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations and industry best practices.
- Support the delivery of technically challenging infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ideally 10 years' experience within a civil infrastructure design.
- Strong technical experience in highways, drainage and civil engineering infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vehicle Tracking and MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
- Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards and engineering regulations.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
